Making The Grade
February 26, 2022
The WIAA released its list of academic champions for the winter activity season yesterday. Among the winners were the Ephrata Tigers boys basketball team.
Upon hearing the news head coach Brandon Evenson responded, “Wow. So pumped for the boys. They worked hard on and off the court. This is a great honor for them and the program.”
The varsity program finished the winter season with a 3.8 grade point average to lead all 2A boys basketball programs in the state of Washington. “We always stress being a student athlete and these guys took it to heart and made it happen. Proud coach for-sure. Great job guys,” Evenson exclaimed.
This is Ephrata’s 23rd state academic championship, and its first since the 2019 cheer squad received the honor.
